Question of the Day - 10 May 2026

Q:

I just heard that there will be a motorcycle stunt in front of Caesars Palace later this month. I didn't get any details. Can you tell us what it is and why it's happening? And can you review the other stunts at Caesars through history?

A:

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Caesars Palace (which opened on August 5, 1966) and the opening of the new Omnia Dayclub there, a motorcycle stunt will take place where many have occurred before.

All the details haven't been announced, but we do know that the Clark County Commission approved an application submitted by Tao Hospitality Group to host the event on Sunday May 17. Colby Raha, renowned 32-year-old American professional freestyle motocross rider and X Games medalist recognized for his daring big-air stunts and world-record jumps, will make a "controlled vertical jump" over the Caesars Palace fountains. According to documents submitted by Tao Group, it will be an attempt to set a new world record for a vertical jump height on a motorcycle at 100 feet. Raha broke the existing record January by jumping 90 feet high off a quarter-pipe in Mesa, Arizona.

The event is scheduled between 2 and 3 p.m.; the Strip sidewalk will be closed from 12 to 4 p.m. for security purposes.

As for similar stunts in Caesars' history, you can read about those at length in a previous QoD on the subject; it also covers stunts at Stratosphere, Mirage, the Rio, and Paris.
