If I stay in a Strip hotel and park my car, then enter and leave multiple times during the day, does the "daily rate" of $10-$12 a day still apply or do I pay a separate charge each time I enter and leave the lot?
We receive variations on this theme frequently enough to know that there’s still some confusion about parking fees on the Strip.
As far as hotel guests are concerned, when you're a guest at a Strip hotel-casino that charges for parking, you pay the daily rate on your room and you can come and go as you please (known in the biz as in-out privileges). You use your room key card to open the gate on your way in and on your way out, as long as you’re registered.
Not only can you come and go from your own hotel-casino, but you can also park at sister casinos on your room card. If you're staying at MGM Grand, for example, you can park free at Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Bellagio, Mirage, etc. Same as if you're staying at Harrah's; you also can park for free at Bally's, Flamingo, Caesars, etc.
The Wynn recently relaxed its paid-parking policy: If you spend $50 anywhere on the property, you get your parking for free. Since all the rooms in the Wynn and Encore hotels cost more than $50, guests get parking for free.
At the Cosmopolitan, you have in-out privileges, but it doesn’t have any sister properties, so you’ll have to pay to park everywhere else.
For a complete list of parking charges, plus lists of Strip and nearby casinos that don’t charge for parking, go to the Parking Fees page on this website.
