I usually play at one of the Boyd casinos. I was wondering how long can I stay away before I lose all of my B-Connected points. I would hate to lose all of my points.
Boyd Gaming’s official position is as follows.
“B Connected Points will not expire during our closure. This will allow you the chance to use them once we reopen without any penalty. If you had offers expire during the closure, you will have new valid offers after reopening. New offers will be sent to you closer to the property’s scheduled reopening.”
New tier credits will also be issued to help players achieve their 2021 tier levels. We've heard from one long-time subscriber, Roy, who tells us, "My tier credits went from 101 to 201. Obviously, something they're doing to make customers feel good. My price for Boyd hotels didn't drop, so this is essentially a cosmetic change, at least for me."
Adds Boyd spokesman David Strow, “I can’t give you a specific timeline for how long the [points] expiration will be extended, as that really depends on when we're able to re-open.”
Unlike Boyd, Station Casinos has a date for Boarding Pass point expirations, but it’s comfortably distant. “Effective immediately, we will be pausing the expiration of all Boarding Pass points that expired, or are scheduled to expire, between March 17 and December 31, 2020. In addition, your card tier status as of March 17 will also remain unchanged through December 31, 2020,” wrote Chief Operating Officer Bob Finch.
Caesars Entertainment has also put its points-expiry on hold, although not as long as Station. “All scheduled Reward Credit expirations have been paused until at least September 1, 2020,” said the company. “As a result of the temporary closure from the COVID-19 outbreak, certain offers like promotions, events, and entertainment will expire or be canceled. We are working on rescheduling these and other offers and will communicate the new details as soon as they are available.” You will also be able to obtain refunds on sports wagers placed on canceled events.
This is just a representative sample. Similar policies are being enacted in other major casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, around the country, and major casinos in Indian Country.
