I would add Danny Gans and Rich Little to this list.

  • Don the Dentist Jun-27-2018
    Addition

    Nice guys
Jose Andres, b/c he seems like such a nice guy w/ a huge zest for life and good food--and think of the meal you could share.
Phil Hellmuth, b/c he seems like such a bad boy, and I know he likes good food b/c I've observed him in a couple of great restaurants. We've spoken briefly and, actually, he was quite charming.

    Celebrity hang out: BETTY WILLIS!
I would most like to jump into the time machine and visit with sign designer Betty Willis in her studio, look through her portfolio of signs, be with her when Blue Angel went up, and of course when the first (now iconic) Welcome to Las Vegas sign was installed.

  • Robert Byrne Jun-27-2018

Bob Stupak should be on the list. Went to Vegas for the first time in the 80's. The dealers at Vegas World had bow ties with long "tails" If If I remember correctly the tie said Bob Stupak and the tails said" He's Polish". Would have loved meeting a guy with that kind of humor. By my last name, obviously I am Polish myself.

I think that he also had a blackjack game where the dealer had BOTH cards up. Don't remember what the other rules were that gave the house the edge but it sure was an interesting twist.

Definitely would have liked to have met him

  • Dave Jun-27-2018
    Also
You listed Siegfried or Roy. Or? Shouldn’t that be ‘and/or’? Or listed individually?

You also listed Penn Jillette but no mention of Teller?

  • Ray Jun-27-2018
    only one?
It would be a disservice to only choose one. There are several already on the list (before you add suggested others) that I would love to hang out with, but for different reasons. At least I have another week before I have to decide.

  • Jackie Jun-27-2018
    No One
I would suggest the option of "No One" as it would be interesting to see how many would make that choice. However I would suggest Raymond Joseph Teller of Penn and Teller as I have heard him talk and he is a "nut case" and I mean that in a good way. Penn is the "Showman" but Teller is the Brains and I just love picking brains.

  • Deke Castleman Jun-27-2018
    multiple choice
Not to worry, raysue. It says in the question that you can pick as many as you like, and I checked to make sure that the Multiple Answers function is enabled.

And thanks to everyone for all these suggestions. Keep 'em comin'. Gonna be a fun poll.

  • Glenn Leonberger Jun-27-2018
    The Rat Pack
Even though they are listed individually, I'd love to hang with the whole Rat Pack. I've gone to several of the "Rat Pack is Back" type shows and they always leave me longing for "those days."

  • O2bnVegas Jun-27-2018
    3 interesting days
Steve Cyr, for a day of "whale" stories.

Deke Castleman, for a day of tours around those interesting places he writes about.

The Vegas shooter (I don't recall his name), to ask "Why?"

    Re: Stupak
If someone wanted to meet Bob Stupak, there would inevitably be a catch (beyond the catch that he's dead). Like when you arrived at the free "Meet and Greet Bob Stupak" program, you'd find out that if you wanted the encounter to be more than his saying, "Hello, nice to meet you," you'd have to pay $99.99 for the "Elite Meet and Greet Bob Stupak" program which would allow you 4 minutes with Bob and include one free glass of Champagne, a signed photo, and a coupon for 50% off in the buffet (excluding dinner).

  • Lovegas95 Jun-27-2018
    Choices
George Wallace because I met him briefly and he was a cordial, down to earth guy. A whole day and I might laugh myself to death.
Howard Hughes to see Vegas through his eyes.
Sammy D. Jr. to get a real feel for life as a black man in Vegas during his time.

  • Luis Jun-27-2018
    Old Vegas!
Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Oscar Goodman, Jackie Gaugan, Michael Gaugan, Moe Dalitz, Anthony Curtis, Steve Wynn, Benny Binnion, Lefty Rosenthal, even Bugsy. They would give me such a History Lesson!!!, and insight on how to properly run a Hotel Casino, not how it's run today, but how it should be run!!. Today's Hotel - casino is all about the sotck holders, and cero about the customer, that's a shame, because they are trying to weed out the average customer and keep only the whale, too bad, that's a recipe to destroy the hotel - casino business, too bad.

    add maybe
Phil Ruffin (TI & Frontier), Jose Andres, Gordon Ramsay and Mac King the magician

  • dpanagrosso Jun-27-2018
    A few more....
I would also put in a vote for Redd Foxx. He had a great show at the Hacienda back in the day. George Burns, Danny Gans, Don Rickles, Joan Rivers, Melinda the First Lady of Magic, maybe even Gary Shandling should be there too. And maybe a couple new headliners - Olivia Newton John, Donnie & Marie, Barry Manilow. Definitely the full Rat Pack should be on the list.

    Robert Urich
I remember walking with my wife in Caesars Palace and a man behind us complained about all of the smoke. We turned around and it was wife's hearth throb actor Robert Urich. We agreed on the smoke. He died of rare cancer of the joints (synovial sarcoma).

  • Diana Thorpe Jun-28-2018
    Fun to listen to whom?
Jean Scott, Teller, Liberace, Helen Stewart (first postmaster of Vegas), daniel negreanu & Phil Ivy, and Sammy Davis Jr. IT would be fun to ask any of them questions and listen to them talk about their experiences.

  • Diana Thorpe Jun-28-2018
    one more name ....
Ditto on Toni Armstrong's suggestion. Betty Willis would be a great person to talk with. She's had such an impact on the visual landscape of Tourist area Vegas.
