Question of the Day - 15 February 2023

Q:

Poll preview: Best tourist-corridor breakfasts

A:

This poll is a suggestion -- actually, a reminder -- from frequent contributor Dave, who writes, "Today’s question on classic cars led me to the link to the Imperial Palace information, which led me to the next-day’s poll on local breakfast spots. In the response results, you noted, 'We also like the idea of a second poll for the best breakfasts at tourist-corridor casinos.' My next search led to no follow-up and as such options change so often, how about a poll on the best Strip and downtown breakfasts?"

Happy to oblige.

Here's the poll preview and your chance to add to our own list below of your favorite tourist-corridor breakfasts. We're extending Dave's Strip and downtown parameter to include Henderson, since our new favorite is the $4.99 breakfast special at Emerald Island. So if you have any others in downtown Henderson, please add them. (The poll itself will start next Wednesday, Feb 22.)

The ones that immediately come to mind for us are:

Eat (Downtown)
Eggslut (Cosmopolitan)
Emerald Island (Henderson)
Grand Lux Café (Venetian)
Hash House A Go Go (Henderson)
Hash House A Go Go (LINQ)
Hash House A Go Go (Plaza)
La Salsa Cantina (Miracle Mile Shops)
Mon Ami Gabi (Paris)
Ocean One (Miracle Mile Shops)
Peppermill (north Strip)
Saginaw’s Deli (Circa)
Siegel’s 1941 (El Cortez)

    I Miss the Days
of the Cafes. Harrahs way back when and Flamingo had great cafes where I had some delicious breakfasts. I haven't been to LV in over a year but I assume Carlos and Charlies in Flamingo still serves breakfast. It's quite good.

    Du-Pars
I never got to try Du-Par's when they had a spot at Golden Gate. I understand they have one at Suncoast, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

    Breakfast buffet at South Point
Here's another mention of South Point... they're breakfast buffet is easily the best deal in the valley, especially if you use the 2-for-1 LVA coupon.

  • Rick Gevers Feb-15-2023
    You HAVE to include...
...both Bagelmania (a block off the strip) and Bagel Cafe (main location off the strip but they have the Del Mar Deli at South Point.

    Something a little different
Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar in the Linq Shops had some pretty good Mexican breakfasts as well as good quality "normal stuff." best of all, we walked right in after deciding not to wat an hour for Hash House a Go Go. Very good decision!

Not sure how you define "Tourist - Corridor but here are a few of my favorits
Jamm's Restaurant on Rainbow. Great Skillet breakfasts, reasonable prices

Mary's Hash House on Decatur(this is NOT Hash House a Go-Go) has about 4-6 types of hash, from corned beef to road beef plus a lot of other breakfast items. Good food, Very friendly people

Magnolia at Four Queens - Since we stay at the Four Queens,WE eat there at least 2-3 times on every trip.

Breakfast Buffet at South Point is also a great value

    La Creperie
I think that's the name- it's an awesome crepe spot in the walk between Paris and Bally's (now Horseshoe). Fairly quick, reasonably priced, good coffee and really hits the spot before a big day of gambling and drinking...:P

    Why "Limit" The Area?
Not sure why the "area" should be limited here? I will "wager" there are better AND much cheaper breakfasts to be had outside the "tourist corridor" ESPECIALLY the Stinkin Strip where $20+ is likely the norm. Let the readers decide whether they want to venture "out into the wild" err....outside the mega-mall casino hotels...

    Breakfast on Strip
You have to try Il Fornaio (Italian place) at New York New York. Their toasted Italian bread is to die for!

  • shari ehara Feb-15-2023
    Other Places
Downtown Four Queens Magnolia's and Du Par's at Suncoast since they use all butter only for their pancakes! Emerald Island I love for all meals as well.

  • Marty Feb-15-2023
    Agree and more
Carlos and Charlies, especially if you sit outside. What about Downtown Terrace??

  • Roy Furukawa Feb-15-2023
    Cosmopolitan
The one kind of hidden gem for breakfast at The Cosmopolitan is The Henry across the floor from the sports book. They serve a big mug of joe and their truffle tater tots are fabulous. On the pricey side, but delicious.

    Breakfast on the Strip
Margaritaville at the Flamingo has a great breakfast.

Citizens Kitchen and Bar at the Mandalay Bay

    Some I like
--Eat, at 7th & Carson downtown, a block from El Cortez. On my last trip, I had the best pork chops (and eggs) I've ever had in my life.
--Magnolia's, at Four Queens. Regular breakfast stuff, done very well
--DuPar's. Terrific when it was at the Golden Gate. I've been there only once since it moved to the Suncoast, and it was still terrific. Pie with breakfast? Why not?

  • Gerard Kapsiak Feb-15-2023
    Village Pub at Ellis Island
The Village Pub at Ellis Island is located very close to the strip. They have a great steak & eggs special for $8.99.

  • Doozey Feb-16-2023
    Cosmo Henry's
Very good pancakes. Grilled cheese and tomato soup. Eggslut line is very long at almost any time.
