Reader Poll results: Not-to-miss restaurants for first-time Las Vegas visitors
The results are in and we're happy to see that the poll garnered more than 2,200 votes.
It won't come as much of a surprise that the Peppermill took top honors with 14% of the total; at 50 years old (it opened on December 26, 1972), it's about as iconic a coffee shop as exists in Las Vegas and certainly on the Strip.
The menu is 12 pages long, five of which are for breakfast (10 omelets alone) and the portions are almost as big. Several items remain from the original menu, such as the fabulous fresh fruit salad (that comes with ice cream, house-baked banana-nut bread, and marshmallow sauce), the sinful French toast ambrosia, and of course the half-pound Peppermill burger. Prices have crept up over the years, but you'll either take half your meal back to your hotel room or finish for your one splurge of the day. Of course, the Fireside Lounge is as cozy as it gets and that 64-ounce Scorpion starts or ends your Vegas party with a sting.
The Peppermill was also on Vegas Eater's list of restaurants for first-timers that inspired this poll.
Your second through fifth vote-getters weren't on Eater's list, though LVAers won't be surprised by any of them -- or the rest of the top ten.
