Question of the Day - 26 September 2018

Q:

Reader Poll: Vote for which Las Vegas architectural and signage icons you feel should appear in silhouette in Vegas Strong images.

A:

Thanks to everyone who commented on last week's poll-preview page about selecting hotel rooms. That poll was postponed for a couple of weeks after we received a suggestion for the poll that we're introducing today. With October 1 fast approaching, we thought it appropriate to poll on Vegas Strong images. Click here to vote for your selections.

    Too Much!
Caesar's statues are a bit vulgar and over the top (pun intended)for "logo" viewing, although personally we like 'em. We also liked the erotic statues on the "library steps" of the old Monte-Carlo. It's all Vegas, baby!

    Veer Towers
Strangely, I always notice the Veer Towers at City Center when I come into town on the the 15N freeway. I like the yellow coloring and the way they lean in opposite directions (I read it's about 5 degrees of lean) and I think a distinctive silouette of the LV skyline. I really wish the old Stardust sign still existed with the original Googie style writing on it as that was ruined when they used Futura typeface from a computer and then eventually imploded the old girl. I guess Karma struck when they tried to build Echelon Place on the land. :D
