We also rent a car but only visit local casinos where we don't pay for parking and the visit planet hollywood and Palazzo where we don't pay for parking. We refuse to pay for parking

No cab or bus for me
Depending on the time of year and the length of my stay, I may drive from the East Coast(when I stay for the winter) or rent a car. I stay in timeshares that I own (I'm a happy owner) from anywhere from one week to three months at a time. I don't park or play at any hotel where I would have to pay for parking and normally frequent the local's casinos off strip. If the strip got away from paid parking I would frequent them more. I haven't used a cab or the bus in about 15 years of my coming to LV.

    parking
yes I still rent a car when flying in,at times we drive and use our own car.less than a month ago we flew out to see alton john a great show by the way. we staid seven days comped at four queens.the parkinjg for Elton and dinner at bobby flays was 23.00 this is crazy. another show at ballys was also this expensive for parking. the rental itself was 495.00 all told, although this was not the cheapest car available,i will accept responsibility for over paying on this.i no longer play in paid parking casinos only going to shows and resturants. rh

    car rental
Of our last 10 trips, have rented a car one time. We use the WAX bus from airport to downtown (usually stay at ElCo); use the SDX bus to/from the strip; use uber/lyft average of a 4 times per trip. The RTC (bus) app costs $10 for 7 days (senior rate), cheapest way to get around and is fairly quick, use Uber/Lyft when we're in a hurry or tired.

    Not a major issue
I am an east coaster so I take uber/lyft to and from the airport and walk most places on the strip. I am a distance runner so the walk is not too much. Will take the monorail if I go to the book at Westgate. I have rented a car a few times but I am high enough at CET and MGM to get parking free so it's no issue.

    Car rental
I will never be in Vegas without a car. Rentals until recently have been quite reasonable and we like to travel all over the valley. With pay to park however, we will NOT be going to the strip anytime soon. If we want a fine dinner or to see a show, we will park nearby and Uber to where we want to go. It won't be long until we can get comparable value in the Chicago area......it will save me considerable airfare.
