    Summer visits
M We did not have alot of money but wy wife and I were both teachers. For twenty something years we would come out to Las Vegas since we had the summers off. We used coupons and hosts and were able to stay for two weeks each visit. With cautious gambling we were able to save so much money since we did not go to Europe, Carribbean, etc. We loved Las Vegas and did our thing! Have now retired and moved to FL. Still visit twice a year!!

    Cold months
We have switched from the Strip to downtown. We like how everything is so close, the vibe, the excitement. Some might call it sleazy with the buskers ( but us retirees don't bring children with us). However that all adds to the atmosphere. Found a new gem in the El Cortez after staying years in the Golden Nugget. We don't go in the summer, instead the cold months.

    Mostly for the WSOP...
and a few more times through the year when we get comped at our favorite off-strip houses.
For the last few years we've been going to Laughlin more than Las Vegas, since it's closer and more attuned to our style of play. But the GN recently 86'd their bimonthly Blackjack tournament--a major draw--and our two other favorite places in Laughlin will soon be under new ownership; so who's to say what the future holds? I would prefer to go the additional distance for a comped stay in Las Vegas rather than pay a resort fee in Laughlin--or anywhere else.
Our Las Vegas trips have centered around the WSOP, and we're back there again in a couple of months. We haven't paid a parking fee since the famous one at Binions' several years ago, described in other posts; and only occasionally a resort fee, when it was unavoidable.
If Southern Nevada continues on its present downward course, I could see our Vegas and Laughlin visits dropping back to the WSOP only, or even stopping altogether.

    Vomitorium
I read this on tipping at Sterling Brunch. Guy suggested talk to management about one. Don’t know if you are joking or just crazy. Name suggest you vomit in order to eat more. Perhaps I am naive and missed something here. Perhaps yo should consider the Golden Carrol really kinda insulting for Sterling Brunch.
