Question of the Day - 05 December 2025

Q:

What topics are the most popular on QoD?

A:

The topics about which we get the most questions include the gouge, resort fees, tipping, influencers, players clubs and hosts, smoke-free casinos, video poker, cash handling, The Wizard of Oz, and especially this time of year, Formula 1. We answer them as often as possible without getting repetitious (we get bored too), especially when the questions are submitted from a new or fresh angle.

But man, we get lots and lots of questions about every possible Las Vegas and gambling topic under the sun. From the A's stadium to showgirls, current events to casino chips, blackjack to taxes, the Mob to escalator maintenance, history, gambling lingo, restaurants, advantage slots, comps, Uber, parking, personalities, car rentals, election betting, cheating scandals, the drought, TITO, Vegas TV and movies, photos in casinos, and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

The quantity and quality (in a word, fecundity), variety, avidity, oddity, and sometimes downright ingeniosity of questions that you submit never cease to amaze us and we're so so so so grateful that you keep coming up with them. That way we can do what we love to do: research and write the answers and read the comments.

So tell us: What QoD topics are most popular with you?

    History and downtown
I love all of the history ones, like the recent Benny Binion statue. And since we stay exclusively downtown, I dig the posts that cover the downtown scene, especially ones that mention spots that are not under the FSE canopy.
