Question of the Day - 01 October 2018

Q:

Remembering the 58

A:

In many religions, the simple act of remembering those who've passed away honors their lives and legacies.

Today, we remember and honor the 58 victims.

Several memorials are being held on the first anniversary of the mass shooting. But the one that moved us the most took place last March 31 at T-Mobile Arena at the start of the Vegas Golden Knights' last home game of the regular season, when a banner with the number 58 was raised to the rafters. Team owner Bill Foley will no doubt raise many banners at T-Mobile, but never one with more symbolism for and connection to Las Vegas.

No player will ever wear number 58 for the VGK.

And we hope and pray that every time millions of fans see that banner in person and on television, the 58 will be remembered.

Rest in peace.

Let's think about the next 5,800
I would prefer to focus my efforts on saving the next several thousand victims, wherever they may be, who are in line to be killed because some disgruntled nutcase can buy a weapon of mass murder as easily as a Slurpee at a 7-11.

We can honor the victims by making actual, sincere efforts to curb gun love and the insane power of the evil NRA.
