Question of the Day - 04 September 2017

Q:

We are planning a trip to The Orleans in about three weeks. Have you heard anything about when the buffet remodeling might be completed?

A:

You might be in luck.

Boyd Gaming says the new Orleans buffet will be ready “in mid-September.”

Otherwise, Boyd has been rather coy about specifics. We do know that you’ll see new decor and a revamped menu, and that the redo is costing upwards of $4.5 million. Its footprint will be expanded to 24,000 square feet, which is swallowing up the Orleans liquor store. In keeping with a de-theming of the property, the “French Market Buffet” name is being dropped, though the new name hasn't been announced.

While we’re not in a position to comment on the menu, the new look of the buffet should be very striking, as it is the work of Friedmutter Group. That’s the firm that did the interiors of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Red Rock Resort, two of the most striking casinos in the area. We expect Friedmutter to work its magic again at The Orleans.

    The Orleans
They can do whatever to the Orleans but I hope they never mess with Big Al's Oyster Bar, we love that place!
