Question of the Day - 28 July 2018

Q:

Where's the Oscar statue that was outside the Sinatra restaurant at the Encore? I couldn't find it the last time I was there. Did Steve Wynn take it with him?

A:

Wynn Resorts’ Alexsandra Baranova replies: “The Oscar was originally loaned to us by the Sinatra family. It was always intended for the exhibit to change periodically. New items generously loaned to us have been added to the gallery."

What new items? A bronze bust of Sinatra by Robert Berks (1976); another bust by Jo Davidson (1946) for Modern Screen magazine, which named him Man of the Year; an inscribed Tiffany cigar box; and a "session box" (the lid to a cigar box) that was autographed by all the musicians who played for one of Sinatra's early Capitol Records recording sessions.
