Question of the Day - 26 September 2020

Q:

What is “Stadium Swim" as described in a question about the new Circa hotel in downtown Las Vegas?

A:

Stadium Swim is the name of Circa's pool complex.  The name reflects the size, and to an extent the complexity, of the facility.

When it opens in a month, Circa's Stadium Swim will boast six pools and three levels, with a monumental 143-foot-wide 14-million-pixel HD screen presiding over it all broadcasting games and entertainment of all kinds.

In addition, Stadium Swim will have a 4,000-person capacity, including 337 chaise longues, 38 daybeds, and 30 cabanas, and will be open 365 days a year. Insta-ready selfie walls, swim-up bars, and ultraviolet-light sanitation and water-recirculation self-cleaning patterns (which reportedly provide guests with a state-of-the-art public-pool experience in terms of cleanliness) round out the amenities.

Guests at the D and Golden Gate will have access for free, including an hour before Stadium Swim opens to the public. General-admission all-day (9 a.m. to 11 p.m.) tickets are on sale to non-hotel-guests for $10 per person and are good for football-viewing parties; you can buy these now. Lounge chairs will be rented in two- or four-hour increments for $7.50 per hour. Daybeds and cabanas will be sold with a food-and-beverage minimum and can be reserved all day; prices for these aren't yet on the website.

    It's big.
Capacity of 4,000! That's almost the size of the Caesars Palace Colosseum theater where Celine and others performed.

    cabana pricing
Some cabanas are available on the website. The opening day price (October 28) is $1,000 minimum spend, while November 17th is $150 minimum spend.

Two reasons I'll never go ...
    1. Capacity of 4,000 and only 337 chaise lounges. Where the heck does everyone sit?
    2. Insta-ready selfie walls ... Vegas is dying and this isn't helping.

    COVID-safe?
I haven't heard anything from Circa or LVA or any of us about the level of danger of getting the COVID virus via pool water, or whether the layout of all the pool areas does anything to minimize the danger. Anybody able to comment on this issue?

    Can't be 4,000
The only way 4,000 people could get into the pool area at the same time is if they're stacked on top of each other horizontally. I believe the actual capacity is 1,000. This article has a figure of 4,000 people expected to pass through it each day, but doesn't have an actual capaicty figure. https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2020/06/17/downtown-las-vegas-new-circa-resort-and-casino-open-pool-casino-october/3199917001/

Because the Covid is a blone up figure of George Sorris and company and is nothing more than the comon cold an is being xagerated by the Dems and Libs in order to hurt the chances of out GREAT PRESIDENT in the comming election.

    politics
The comments only reinforce the notion that we can't fix stupid. A reasonable person will gather information from reliable sources in Circa and then decide about taking the plunge. There is no need to use political rhetoric here.

    Circa website says 4,000
The Stadium Swim webpage on the Circa website does say the Stadium Swim venue has a capacity of 4,000 people. Links usually don't post correctly here in the comments, but you can find it easily using the info below, maybe do a copy and paste to your browser. When you get there look on the left side of the screen to see the "4,000 Person Capacity". .

    "Blone up"
Doc, if you are going to pretend to be educated, then you should probably not post something riddled with misspellings. In other words, don't write checks your intellect can't cash.

Tip of the hat to "Dr." Jeremy and ...
... a pretty good job at trolling an audience that probably bit hard on his post. And that's both sides; Trumpists, he's making fun of you. Democrats, he's jabbing at your bubbling outrage.
