Question of the Day - 22 November 2024

The smoking QoD, part 1 and 2, generated 33 comments. A lot of people found it interesting. We might think the answer to a question is obvious but it seems to generate interest. Plus we’re asking a group of insiders,LVA, and the people they know for infinformation. I wonder how many casino managers read QoD on a daily basis.

Problems with the 'question', if it can be called a real question:

1. "Ultra stupid..."  

As if the poser of the question had a monopoly on intelligence. Somewhere in the world lives a miserable soul who lives to be insulting.

2. "Why are casinos killing people by letting them smoke?" 

Has there ever been a QoD structured that way?  This assumes "casinos" are entities, every single one having the intent to "kill people" and "letting them smoke" would accomplish such a "kill." Everyone who smokes also smokes at home and elsewhere, not just inside casinos.

I recall it once being stated that questions and comments
regarding smoking were prohibited. 

How are favorites listed as negative. Shouldn’t a team, etc. that’s thought of as a favorite be listed as +2 instead of -2, like they’re favored by 2 points?

CANT ACCESS - WHY DOES CIRCA require pictured i.d.  but not at other casinos they own ????????????????????

This is what I found most interesting, was sure there had to be a correlation when some casino's went smoke free vs. prior revenues, apparently has not made any difference to the bottom line, thanks LVA for all you do!

My wife Karen and I met Brad and Jean while they were playing video poker at the Orleans in May, 2017.  Jean signed my book and Brad stopped playing to talk with us. He was charming. gracious and expressed a sincere desire to engage in conversation with two perfect strangers. He spoke to us with a warmth as though we knew each other for years. A feeling we will never forget. Thanks for the memory. RIP

Stay the coarse LVA. I enjoy reading the daily question.  Some I enjoy more than others, but always read them, and most times, learn something new! Keep up the good work.

Way-to-go. First of all, that question is stupid in itself! Next, many of us are not as knowledgeable as others and truly appreciate any information that is given. Please ignore this "Stupid" question and keep on keeping on. Thanks for your very important service.  John

BUT I haven't seen many (if any) on QOD.  Many are thought provoking, the "I hadn't thought that, but that's interesting..." type.

And if I read a question and don't find even 1% interesting, I move on, usually to the comments, which are sometimes interesting even if the topic isn't.

Please give my prayers to Jean.  I did not hear this news - how did others find out?  

Notice of Brad Scott's passing was in the "Vegas News" section of LVA yesterday.  Vegas News contains the latest information of all things Las Vegas, straight from Anthony Curtis and crew.  There is no 'comment' section, a good thing.  It is the second 'click' I go to after QoD.
