Vince Neil is the lead vocalist of heavy-metal band Mötley Crüe. He was asked to join the band in its earliest days by drummer Tommy Lee, with whom Neil went to high school in southern California. He was fired in 1991 (for excessive drinking), went solo, and was rehired later that decade when his solo fortunes, along with the band's collective popularity, were declining. The band has been on and off since, but Neil, a Las Vegas resident, has been involved in numerous other ventures, such as a tattoo shop, poker tournament, tequila brand, a string of Dr. Feelgood's bars, a Vegas strip joint, and the Las Vegas Outlaws Arena Football team.
He has two Vince Neil’s Tatuado Eat Drink Party restaurants in Las Vegas, one at Circus Circus, the other on E. Tropicana. There was also one at the Las Vegas Hilton (now Westgate), but it didn't last long.
The Spanish verb "to tattoo" is the cognate tatuar; tatuado is the past participle: tattooed or inked. The theme of the restaurants is recreating the look and feel of a Sunset Strip nightclub; as such, they feature a large display of Neil and rock memorabilia. Currently, Tatuado at Circus Circus remains closed and now that Phil Ruffin owns the hotel-casino, we wouldn't bet on it reopening.
The second location near the university is operating. Neil also has a Vince Neil’s Tatuado Wild Side Tavern in Pahrump that's open 24/7.
