Where Does the Name Vdara Come From?

Thank you for your explanations of the names Zzyxx and Terrible's, which leads me to ask about the name "Vdara" for the hotel-condo tower at City Center. What does Vdara mean, if anything, and if not, where did it come from?

According to a quote from a CityCenter vice president of sales and marketing at the time that CityCenter opened (2009) that we unearthed in an old story on SmartMeetings.com, Vdara is a name that was made up by the 1,500-room hotel-condo tower's original design group, Rafael Viñoly Architects.

It took the "V" from "Vegas" (though we wonder if it might not be a subtle nod to Viñoly as well) and its "ara" from high-end boutique hotels, such as the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad and the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, both in California.

As for the "d," we can only imagine that a consonant had to be added in the middle to avoid the awkward names "Viara" or "Veara" or even worse, "Vara."

Or perhaps Rafael Viñoly Architects knew that Adara is a girl's name derived from Hebrew/Arabic/Greek that means "beauty" and "noble." (Though something leads us to believe that that's probably a little far-fetched.)

Vdara I've wondered also

but not what it means, but rather how it is pronounced.
Probably V Dara or Va Dara.
However, Madison Avenue shook it's collective heads in disbelief of such a moronic marketing faux pas.

It was derived from Advar, a pain-relief drug developed by Johnson and Johnson that turned out to be hallucinogenic.
