Question of the Day - 02 June 2020

Hopefully those quarantine hotels that infected Vegas visitors get stuck in will have a bingo game, a few decks of cards and maybe some board games with dice that can be re-purposed. That way the forced residents can operate their own "in-house" casino. But please, no 6-5 blackjack you guys. If you're already unlucky enough to catch the c_virus then having to play bad blackjack rules while stuck in quarantine is just too much.  

In a Hotel! Another ill thought out idea.  Visitors and locals alike housed in a Kapo against their will.  Escapes will happen and escapees will most likely be hunted under terminal force rules.  Hospitalization is the proper treatment only, absolutely no hotels, then their health insurance will defray costs and treatment available if a person worsen toward death. Hundreds could be in a hotel and if any worsen how would anyone know in time to hospitalize that person.  Sisolak and the Gaming Commission need to rethink this asinine idea.

If you’re that concerned about getting it, stay home.  Why would you want to worry about getting the virus while on vacation?  Doesn’t sound like a very relaxing vacation to me. 

Seriously? There goes Las Vegas!  I was looking forward to booking a trip in October but won't now!  That is scary stuff.  

If I get infected with the WuHuFlu, the first place I'm headed is to a doctor that will prescribe me a Hydroxychloraquine/Zinc/ZPak combination.
It won't be in Vegas, however.
I love the place, but I won't be back until people realize that this has been a hoax of epic proportions perpetrated by political operatives that are trying to destroy our country and way of life.

"If medically needed."  Hmm.  It won't take much meeting of exposure criteria (those travel and symptom questions + the 100.4 temp) to pack the guest into a dedicated vehicle (which will undergo that extreme cleaning afterwards) and send them someplace to quarantine.  Ethically they can't just turn you back to any taxi or rental car and back on a plane with significant exposure/illness history, because now they know, the onus is on them.  Quarantine means IN THE ROOM BY YOURSELF.  You sign a form and are tracked.  Food?  Think boxed meals. TV maybe. Bring a book.  Even with a C-19 positive test you aren't hospitalized unless sick and getting sicker.  They don't want every "possibly exposed" or "exposed but not terribly sick" person in any hospital...taxes the resources needed to care for the badly sick, plus the risk of exposure if you don't have it.  

I can't think of a worse way to spend 14 days.  Kind of like now only you can't go any place.

I will not return to vegad until all restrictions on my constitutional rights are ended. I wii enter no casino where my temp is checked at door or I have to wear mask. Also I will not play at any casino where I cannot play certain machines. 

Reason. ? I am retired physician. You have been scambded. This is not a pandemic. 15% of population are carriers and thus immune this is a virus similar to flu. It affects nursing home patients and elderly. Under 30 your chance of catching disease is nil. Death numbers have been doctored but similar to flu deaths last and this year. Do your research and check numbers. Check CDC   When first checked for last year they said 90k deaths. Later 70 k. Think!!  Do your research. This is a test. It is about people control and about how many const rights you will give up in name of disease. Don’t be a sheep

To windy wright. It is not a hoax. It is false flag operation by shadow gov and is about people control and police state. Virus is real but is no diff than flu epidemic. Hoax means it never happened. False flag means the statement results and narrative is wrong. All statements on MSM ( aka fake news ) are lies glad you see thru the farce. You shut down a country for a weaponixed weapon similar to flu. ?? 40 mil unemployed. 30% of small businesses will not reopen. MSM and gov think all Americans are stupid. Unfortunately most are. Here in miss. things never changed much as far as our activities we don’t like gov telling us or ordering us what to do  maybe many will read these comments and wake up. I think @jay hit the nail on the head and it is ironically funny If Trump’s hotel ends up one of the coronavirus hotels.

With the ongoing protests bringing thousands in close physical proximity across America and seeing media and politicians suddenly getting quiet about coronavirus risks there, it's probably safe to declare it close to over. Wear a mask and keep your distance but, if you're not in a high risk group, it's time to reopen Las Vegas without fear.

After reading some of the comments, I  actually scrolled-up to the top of the page to see if I had inadvertently landed on LVA's Kitchen Sink forum, the one set aside as a dayroom for untreated mental patients. (As a non-physician, My Dx is based on the popular definition of mental illness: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. not the DSM criteria.)

I don't know whether the QoD commenters have been bamboozled by Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, or Carolyn Goodman, but wherever they are getting their misinformation, disinformation and preposterous, easily disproved conspiracy theories, it bodes very poorly for the future of this country, let alone Las Vegas.

At this point, the virus is not our primary problem. It's the ignorance and gullibility of a population whose education system has failed to teach critical thinking and has resulted in a citizenry who are sitting ducks not just for diabolical demagogues but for any moron with a microphone.

Can I  expect any kind of entertainment in
Late September? 

Don't bet on it.  Those quarantine hotels will be just like cruise ships.
