Question of the Day - 23 October 2018

Q:

What work are the cranes at the Venetian doing? Is the St. Regis Tower finally being completed?

A:

No, the St. Regis Tower remains as it’s been for the last decade or so.

What’s been going on there since right after Labor Day is a big pool renovation.

How big? Well, big enough for a crane to be involved. It's working on the main pool at the Venetian through “mid-spring/summer 2019,” according to Las Vegas Sands.

They add, “Construction noise will be intermittent and depending on the location of the suite, guests may hear some construction noise during their stay. Construction hours are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nine pools across the resort are open for guests, seven at Palazzo and two at the pool garden in the Venezia Tower."

We haven’t seen any official numbers for the pool project, but we’ve heard the Sands is spending more than $50 million on it. That big.

Construction is also starting on the Sphere entertainment venue near the Sands Convention Center. More cranes will be moving there soon.
