What apps do you recommend to practice video poker?

We don't use apps for video poker.

We've been playing for so long and perfected our strategies so many years ago (mainly on Video Poker for Winners software) that the strategy cards we produce and sell are all we need for the rare times when we're unsure of (or forgot) the proper play. Besides, we're geezers and apps for the cell phone aren't our forte. So we can't recommend any from personal experience and the following are taken from the product descriptions.

A number of video poker apps are available for Android and iOS and some have web versions, in case you're more comfortable practicing on your computer than your phone. Most offer free play with the option to purchase additional coins or features. Others have subscription options for various benefits like ad-free play or extra coins.

Ultimately, like anything, the best app for you depends on your individual learning style and preferences. We suggest trying out a few different ones to see which best suits your needs.

Video Poker Wizard is a popular choice, especially for beginners. It's been around for a long time, going on 10 years we believe, and is the closest one to our heart, since it's connected to our friend and author Michael Shackleford under his Wizard of Odds brand and featured on Mr. Shackleford's website, WizardofOdds.com. It can be purchased for $9.99 on the site or at the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch; an Android version is also available. It includes 18 different video poker games, allowing users to analyze hands and paytables and practice strategies.

Video Poker Tutor is similar, a good option if you're new to the game.

Video Poker Strategy is a true video poker simulator that analyzes hand combinations and determines the optimal holds. It gives you a more in-depth approach if you're looking to delve a little more deeply into strategy and analysis.

Play Perfect Video Poker Lite enables you to create sample hands, analyze the expected value and variance of different holds, and even see why a particular hold is optimal.

Video Poker Deluxe also offers a variety of games and a realistic casino experience and has a double-up feature if that's your thing.

FanDuel Casino has a comprehensive selection of VP games that you can practice on for free in demo mode.

WinPoker

I normally use WinPoker.  Lets me setup pay tables to match what I play in the casino.  I think that Dancer fellow suggested WinPoker since he did not have an iPhone app for his software at that time.  It was in a QOD response someplace as i recall.

You could always subscribe to videopoker.com. The highest level has a tutorial that works well. Plus, you can subscribe by the month, use it a couple of months until you get a game down, then unsubscribe.

I have five laptops with video poker for winners that have never been connected to the internet since it was installed. Today I’m very happy with that decision that I made many moons ago. I wish Dancer would come out with a new version.

Wolf Video Poker

I still very much miss Wolf Video Poker. I had a license for it but the vendor pulled up stakes, and it's no longer possible to unlock the software.  It was one of the few programs that could be customized and also one of the only programs that had a strategy for One-Eyed Jacks are Wild. One-Eyed Jacks was everywhere in Minnesota and I never really did figure out the proper strategy. At the time, those games had a payback of just over 100%.  The casinos figured out their mistake and the newer versions pay far less. Perfect play is now essential to get the most out of the game, but I can't find a tutorial to play it correctly.

freeslots.com has a video poker program for lots of VP games, and there is a "trainer" which shows perfect play.  It is easy to use.

Play perfect vp app has strategy for one eyed jacks.
Also for 100s of different games and you can customize pay tables.
Also can use for progressive strategies.
The top level version is a $20 app for me it’s the best one .

Strategy vs Perfect Play

Which (if any) apps allow one to train according to strategy as opposed to computer-perfect play?  One thing that really irks me (I think this happened with videopoker.com) is when I know I made the right play according to the strategy and I get flagged for not playing computer-perfect because it’s a rare exception to the rule 👀🤦🙄

LVA used to ship a free video poker CD along with some of the purchases for the Bob Dancer strategy cards and you could play on your PC. No longer?
