Question of the Day - 26 November 2017

Q:

For Bob Dancer: Computers and especially laptops have advanced well beyond Windows 8 and 8.1. When will the software Video Poker for Winners be upgraded to keep up with current operating systems? Many of us still want to use your VP program, which we purchased years ago, but can’t now. (I suspect even new customers are being turned away when they see they’re out of luck.)

A:
Bob Dancer responds:

With every new version of Windows, Video Poker for Winners has been updated. As you say, the old version will not work on the new machines.

If you email [email protected], supplying your name and email address, they'll look you up in the database and verify that you're a paid user, along with how many upgrades you've received in the past.

Then they'll send you an email version that will work on your new machine. Depending on how many upgrades you've had (I don't know that number), it's possible there will be a modest charge for the upgrade. But even then, it'll certainly be cheaper than buying a new version.

You have classes scheduled on Sundays starting on the seventh. I’m trying to get reasonable airfare from Chicago for jacks or better. I’m sure you don’t want to reach on a Sunday.

Bob Dancer, are there any plans to have Video Poker for Winners run on a Mac or iPad in my lifetime? I'm close to 70.

"I was hoping the question of the day today, 11/26, was meant to cover all operating systems.

I also have Video Poker for Winners, but am in the process of switching over to Apple - using the MAC and Safari. Is there any chance the software will be modified to run on these systems?"

The classes will be on Tuesdays, beginning January. The posted schedule was in error and has been fixed. Thank you for catching it and letting me know.

For some reason, Bob wasn't able to post the rest of the answers. Here they are:

"I would very much like to expand VPW beyond the current games and beyond PCs --- but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. The owners of videopoker.com, who have put up the money for the product, do not wish to sink any more money into this project. I bring it up to them periodically, but there's only so many times you can beat a dead horse."

Wrote to Customer Support at videopoker.com asking when the program would be available for the Mac. Basically, Mac and IOS users will have to settle for a lesser product by videopoker.com.

Video Poker for Winners is a software that can only be played on a PC. There are no plans that I know of to make any changes.

If you are looking for a program for the iPad, try our new app, Videopoker.com, which you can download from the following link. All games are now free in this app, if you have a videopoker.com account.
