If I were to get a ton of money and decide I wanted to splurge on one of those fancy suites or villas in Las Vegas that cost thousands of dollars a night (if I could even get a reservation for one of them) – which one do you think is the best high-priced suite or villa in Las Vegas to stay in?
One unique suite is the Imperial Sky Villa at Westgate, where Elvis Presley lived while he was performing there during its original International incarnation. It's on the the top floor of the tower and has private-elevator access. At 13,200 square feet, it has four bedrooms, each with a jacuzzi and gas fireplace, and five bathrooms, plus a private courtyard complete with pool and lawn. The living space is big enough to entertain a reported 200 of your closest Vegas friends. It runs around $20,000 per night, give or take a few grand depending on demand, and is one of six Sky Villas, from the Mediterranean at 3,276 square feet and two bedrooms two baths all the way up to the Verona at 15,400 square feet where, according to legend, a high roller called his host and asked if he'd seen the player's wife, who was supposed to be in the suite, but he couldn't find her.
Then there's Crockfords Palace at Resorts World. Crockfords is a luxury Hilton brand and this suite, though "only" 7,000 square feet (three times the size of this writer's house), features four bedrooms, each a master suite, plus a formal dining room, game room, and media room, though the main attraction is the "outdoor sanctuary," with a full-size pool and patio kitchen. The Palace suites also come in three bedrooms occupying 6,500 square feet; they're all on the 59th floor of the Resorts World tower. We found a price of $5,000 a night for the four bedroom, but that's probably the starting rate midweek offseason when it's rented and not comped to a whale.
The 34 Fairway Villas at Wynn were recently renovated. They all have a views of the 18th-hole waterfall on the Strip's last remaining golf course and though they're a mere 2,411 (one bedroom) to 3,224 (two bedroom) square feet, only a few are available to the public; the rest are reserved for invited guests (i.e., big-time gamblers, celebrities, and golfers). They're serviced by butlers, feature private gyms or pools or both, and come with Rolls Royce airport transporation, access to the spa, priority reservations, and expedited admission to the clubs. The dual master baths (his and hers) feature soaking tubs and steam showers. The one-bedrooms run $3,000-$5,000 midweek off-peak and rise to $8,000 or more over high-demand weekends.
If you prefer downtown to the Strip, the Jackie Gaughan Suite at El Cortez is probably the place for you. Legendary downtown casino juiceman Jackie Gaughan lived there from 1980 until his death in 2014, at which time the suite was renovated and made available to the public. It's on the 15th floor of the tower, has 2,700 square feet, two bedrooms, and two-and-a-half-baths, and features retro 1980s' decor: pink-upholstered walls, gold fixtures, white marble dining table, blue kitchen with period appliances, and a bar/lounge area with panoramic views of downtown. Nearly all the furniture and fixtures, other than the big flat-screen TVs, are original. The prices we found were $1,200 Sun.-Thurs. and $1,800 Fri. and Saturday, but don't take our word for it. You'll have to call to find out; no public online booking system displays real-time prices.
This list could go on and on. You've got your Sky Villas at Aria, Colosseum Flavian Sky Suite at Caesars Palace, Fleur de Lis Crown Penthouse at Fontainebleau, Penthouse Suites at Four Seasons, Venetian, and Bellagio, the ultra-exclusive 29 megasuites at the Mansion at MGM, the Palazzo Villas at the Rio, the 180 Suite at Red Rock, and many more.
Since you'll be coming into a ton of money, we recommend you try them all and let us know which you like best and why.
