Speaking of pro sports stadiums (today's question about the MLB stadium), friends of friends came back from Las Vegas and talked about partying at Allegiant Stadium. They're big players at the Wynn and said they were right down on the field in a private "club." I've never heard of such a thing. Is it (such a thing)?
Yes, the Wynn Field Club is such a thing at Allegiant Stadium. '
It's located right behind the north end zone, from which if you had about a 20-foot arm, you could reach out and touch the goalpost. As far as we know, it's the only bona fide nightclub in an NFL stadium in the country.
It's a 10,000-square-foot party pit that stretches roughly the width of the football field and features 29 booths and 18 tables served by four bars and a dedicated kitchen dishing out high-end sports-bar fare. There are also two DJ booths, three dozen TVs, and a giant LED screen. With plenty of standing room, if it's totally packed out, it can fit up 700 guests who access the club through a VIP entrance that bypasses the main gates. We're told that the venue fills up for practically every event.
The party starts long before the game does and continues long after and from what we've seen, a number of the Wynn Field Club guests barely know football is happening at all. Other than when the Raiders score a touchdown in the north end zone, of course; then the team has been known to practically join the party, running the length of the club, slapping hands with the celebrants, stopping just short of grabbing and downing a beer.
Best of all, it's not that hard to get in. All you have to do is pay up: General admission tickets are $500-$750, depending on the game, for standing-room access, while for booths and tables, the sky's the limit. For a 10- to 15-person table, you'll pay upwards of $20,000, including admission, automatic gratuity, sales tax, and of course the "venue fee," whatever that is. Standing-room guests can order a la carte from the menu; the booth and table prices are the minimum spend on food and beverage.
The Wynn Field Club is open not just for games, but also for concerts. At any event, it sounds like a great time to us and it's fitting that it's only in Las Vegas. Every Raiders game should be a home game!
