With a nod toward the famed Day of the Dead, the Borracha offers Mexican-inspired dishes and features a drink menu with an abundance of cervezas, tequila and, specialty cocktails.
The noise level was too high for conversation. A bowl of chips and a pretty good house made salsa was served. We shared a roasted corn salad that pretty lame because the portion size was small in relation price, the cheese was no more than a few cubes and the corn was probably out of a freezer bag with little to no time on the grill. We fared much better with our entrees with my wife choosing the chili relleno and me the slow roasted pork carnitas. The carnitas were different than I have experienced previously in that it was not shredded, but the meat proved to be both tender and delicious. The accompanying Spanish rice though was beyond blah and largely ignored. My wife's chili relleno again sounded was described better than it tasted, but still okay. Alicia, our server, seemed disengaged through out the meal. It being senior day, I was only charged 1/2 points.
