The Venetian (and Palazzo) have eschewed the traditional Vegas buffet since day one. We thought that might start a trend, but it didn't; since then, the new Park MGM replacing the Monte Carlo, which won't have a buffet when it opens in 2018, is the only other Strip casino to open without one since New York-New York in 1997 (which didn't have room).
But Buddy V's, an Italian restaurant in the Grand Canal Shoppes, has a fine weekend brunch buffet, including charcuterie and cheese platters, iced peel-and-eat shrimp, fresh salads including the popular Panzanella, soups, selection of house breads, and a carving station with maple-glazed ham, assorted Italian sausages and slab bacon. Signature brunch items include mac n’ cheese carbonara, chicken parmesan, orecchiette & Italian sausage, meatballs and other dishes, as well as breakfast options such as panettone french toast, roasted vegetable frittata, egg scrambles and warm crespelle with toppings. The dessert station in the back has cannolis, tiramisu, assorted Italian cookies, coffee cake and bread pudding. The Kids Corner boasts kiddie culinary classics such as chicken fingers, chicken parmesan, and meatballs.
