My wife and I shared a shrimp cocktail and calamari fritti appetizers. The shrimp, numbering 4, were good sized, but the dish would have benefited by more cocktail sauce. The calamari were lightly fried, but the portion size proved to be too large for us. A bread basket with the Don's excellent dipping sauce proved too tempting though I knew we had over ordered since entrees include a Caesar salad or soup with us ordering the former. My wife ordered the chicken Angelo entree that came with asparagus with me going for our usual eggplant Parmesan. Both were very good though belt busting. I used our $25 gift card won in the current promotion plus 2 ACG free appetizer coupons with the remainder charged to my wife's slot card. Don Vito's service and food are consistently good.

Senior Mondays
We started off with complimentary glasses of wine courtesy of American Casino Guide coupons plus a bread basket accompanied the Don's excellent roasted garlic, sundried tomato and EVOO dipping sauce. Entrees include a choice of soup or salad with my wife choosing the Caesar salad while I a cup of pasta fagiole. The soup was very good while the salad was okay. The Mrs. chose chicken Angelo (chicken sauteed with mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and black olives) in a white wine sauce. The gentleman selected the Mediterranean seafood salad (a mix of shrimp, scallops, calamari and lobster that had lightly marinated in herbs and EVOO and served on a bed of lettuces, tear drop tomatoes and capers). Both dishes to proved to be amply portioned and very good. We were dining on a Monday evening and we happen to be seniors so the Don only charged 1/2 points on my wife's slot card. I had the privilege of paying the tip.

Solid
The Don again hosted us for dinner on a Monday night when seniors using points are able to pay 1/2 price. My wife and I hit a perfecta by parlaying The Don's senior promotion with ACG free appetizer coupons. My wife chose a shrimp cocktail while I smacked my lips after ordering clams casino. Her dish would have benefited from more sauce while mine, assuming you had to pay with cash, seemed overpriced given the size of the 3 clam shells. As usual, The Don included a complimentary basket of bread accompanied a fantastic dipping sauce. The tableside prepared Caesar salad was chosen over soup though it was immediately apparent to my taste buds that the dressing was devoid of anchovies. We each ordered the eggplant Parmesan from the Vito's Specialties section of the menu. The dish was solid, but not likely a contender for a James Beard award. Overall, Don Vito's delivers acceptable Italian/American food at reasonable prices.
