Station Casinos introduced the "action" concept to buffets, with separate serving stations and live cooking right behind the serving line. It was quite novel and popular when it debuted at Palace Station in the early '90s and it remained unique among the Vegas "groaning boards" until the Rio one-upped it with the Carnival World Buffet -- and super buffets and gourmet buffets subsequently one-upped the Rio.
The buffet here at Boulder Station was the second Feast to be unveiled and started improving on the concept immediately. Since it was built from scratch, it was bigger, fancier, and all-around better than its immediate ancestor -- and though the quality has had its ups and downs over the ensuing couple decades, the quantity and variety have only gotten bigger and better.
The lines are almost always long. The last time we tried to get in for breakfast, we figured it would take less time to go down the road to Sam's Town's buffet than to wait at Boulder. But if you're here for a movie or night out, to drop your kids at Kids Quest, or even just to get a good cheap buffet (especially with the 2-for-1/50%-off LVA coupon), it's worth the wait.
