LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the February 2010LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. Jerry’s Nugget (steak & lobster)—We don’t talk about this one nearly enough, because located up in North Las Vegas, it’s a long way off the beaten track. But Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop rates right up there with the Ellis Island Café as possibly the best coffee shop in Las Vegas. The menu is one of the most varied in town, combining traditional coffee shop fare with Greek specialties and good seafood. Of course, Jerry’s has been known for years for its trio of prime rib cuts, and they’re still available for $11.89, $17.89, and $35.89. It’s also one of the best in town for desserts. But on this trip we went to test the monthly special. On a rotating basis, Jerry’s offers three surf & turf variations—steak & shrimp ($6.85), steak & king crab ($9.89), or steak & lobster ($11.89). It was lobster when we went. As expected, this is a top-notch special, complete with soup or salad, vegetable, and high-quality main course. Add an excellent spanakopita for $7.89 and you have a winner (with leftovers for lunch). You almost can’t go wrong here.
