This popular neighborhood eatery on the west side of town dubs itself a "Japanese Tapas & Yaki Tori" restaurant and is noted for its imaginative fusion dishes (like cheese tempura, spicy tuna dip, bacon mochi, steamed clams with sake, corn butter bites), in addition to specialty skewers (bacon asparagus, enoki bacon, pork belly) and more orthodox offerings like yellowtail with jalapeno, salmon belly, chicken garlic ponzu, Japanese fried chicken, and pork fried rice.

LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the August 2011 LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. This new Japanese restaurant is located on the west side of town at 6555 S. Jones. It describes its cuisine as “Japanese tapas,” but it’s really the pub-grub-style food similar to what you get in Raku or Ichiza. Kyara has several different dishes, though, and is less expensive—five of us on a tasting mission with plenty of sake barely got over the $200 mark.
