This is an attractive and unusual buffet, with village-like seating simulating al fresco in the town square or near the fireplace in the casual dining room. Also, Le Village Buffet is on the expensive side, so you'd expect the food and service to match. But from what we hear, and it's consistent so we tend to believe it, the service can be less than stellar, with too few servers, food sitting in racks behind the serving area (and patrons walking back there to get to it), food unlabeled or labeled incorrectly, and dirty tables sitting too long.
That said, the food gets good reviews, which has been our experience, especially the made-to-order crepe station, with custom fillings, the variety of fruit and pastries (macaroons and vanilla-bean crème brulee at dinner), and the prime rib is (usually) as desired from the carvery.
Still, for the price, you're better off at the Mirage (a couple bucks less for breakfast and lunch), or Aria and Treasure Island (a few bucks more).
One final thing to note is that this is only buffet in Las Vegas to offer reservations on OpenTable.
