Located in easy reach of the Convention Center, this tourist-centric Moroccan party venue features live belly-dancing nightly and serves a prix-fixe menu of N. This restaurant was reviewed in the April 2009 LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. Having opened in 1979, Marrakech now ranks as one of Las Vegas’ longest-running dining traditions (we last visited about 15 years ago and nothing has changed). It’s a straightforward play: You eat a six-course menu of Moroccan food (with your fingers) with entertainment provided by belly dancers. Price: $39.95. The menu is the same every night (with a vegetarian option available): shrimp scampi, lentil soup, hummus and vegetable salad, shish kabob, Cornish hen with couscous, and a Moroccan dessert called pastilla. It’s not what you’d call authentic Moroccan, but it’s tasty and the experience is big-time fun (something like an old-Vegas dinner show). Moroccan or Lebanese beers are $4 and a bottle of Amizar Rouge Moroccan wine is $35. Before leaving, pick up a coupon for 15% off your next visit, in case you really like it and want to go back.
