Mayfair Supper Club, which has been in the space previously occupied by Hyde ultra-lounge since New Year’s Eve 2019, is a throwback to an earlier era in Las Vegas and around the world: reminiscent of the dinner-and-a-show concept that started in Europe, migrated to New York in the 1930s, and was taken over by Las Vegas in the 1960s, but disappeared by the disco ’70s.
According to the reviews we’ve seen, the food sounds somewhere between pedestrian and great, or maybe it’s just that it’s so expensive, anything short of absolutely French-celebrity-chef spectacular will be disappointing. It’s billed as “contemporary American cuisine” — Wagyu Prime Rib, vegetable pot pie, steak frites, Dover sole, tuxedo scallops, oysters Rockefeller, lobster thermidor, 40-oz. porterhouse, super-green spinach, potato puree, green bean amandine — and expect to pay $200-$250 per person including a glass of wine and a cocktail. The staff is reportedly amenable to splitting dishes, so you might get out of there for $250 for a couple (not including $30-$40 for parking).
The entertainment is the thing, we hear. Dinner is the focus of the early evening, with live music turned down low in the background, but as the night progresses, the performances take center stage. The producer is No Ceilings Entertainment, which has worked on television and live shows including "America’s Got Talent" and "The X-Factor," and includes one of Beyonce’s choreographers. A 360-degree stage that raises and lowers, showcasing performances from all angles, hosts music (nightly DJ, jazz trio, and two vocalists), a dance ensemble, comedy, and interactive elements. The show varies night to night and is completely made over every three months. The late-night menu (taking reservations till 3 midnight) is meant to attract performers from other Strip shows.
All in all, the Mayfair is quite the scene, if you can afford the tariff.
