LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the October 2006 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate. You can go the appetizer route at Tao for $60-$70 a head, or you can drop down to about $10 at the Gold Coast’s Ping Pang Pong, where a new dim sum lunch is served daily from 10 am to 3 pm. It’s one of the bigger selections of dim sum we’ve come across—about 50 items in all. Along with standards like siu mai and steamed buns are more exotic choices, including curried chicken, Cantonese sausage, vegetarian bean-curd roll, Szechwan won ton, spicy black-bean chicken feet, and shrimp-stuffed red chili. The four price categories, marked A through D, are $2.18, $2.88, $3.88, and $5.88. Most fall in the B and C categories. Our bill for two after a major sampling was $31.16.
