LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the March 2007 LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. Here’s a little Italian restaurant on the west side that its patrons swear by. Casa Roma is a no-frills eatery where you can also pick up deli meats, cheeses, salads, and other Italian-cooking to go. Open for lunch and dinner, the ever-present specials board gives you plenty to choose from, or you can order the inexpensive pastas off the regular menu. We sampled one of our all-time favorite dishes off the board—filet mignon with porcini ($24.95)—and all the pastas are homemade. Lunch is a bustling scene with its own specials board, plus lots of pasta plates and salads, all under $10. The big sandwiches—Italian, roast beef, turkey—are tremendous and about $6 each. Homemade minestrone is $5.50. Or just craft your own antipasto (not forgetting to include the excellent calamari salad). The waiters are spectacular at dinner, which begins at 5 pm seven days a week. It’s open till 8 on Sundays, 9 on weekdays, and 10 on Fridays and Saturdays.
