Drive-through (or eat at the few tables outside) a glutton's paradise where oversized appetites are met with a full roster of sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs -- including meat-on-meat options topped with Sammy's signature pastrami.

This restaurant was reviewed in the January 2008 LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. This neat little hot dog/sandwich stand has been operating for five years. It’s not that every sandwich at the Dog House is a winner, but enough of them are that this convenient drive-through is worth knowing about. Located on Decatur Blvd. about two miles west of the Strip between Flamingo and Spring Mountain, Sammy’s serves sandwiches, hot dogs, and sides, along with shakes and smoothies. The dogs are all good and come in several variations—Chicago, New York, Polish, hot link, snap, etc.—and most go for $3 or less. The sides—garlic fries, onion rings, fried green beans—and drinks are also good bets. Hit and miss, though, are the sandwiches ($6.39 to $8.39, depending on selection and size). In a big pre-issue tasting, high marks were given for the pastrami fry (the most popular seller) and steak sandwich. Low marks for the Philly cheeses. Take away or eat outside on the benches.
