The Buffet at Luxor

Luxor
(702) 262-4740 | Official Website
Price: $25-$75
Type: Buffets

The Buffet is a level down from the casino -- it's themed to give the impression of walking through the ruins of a pyramid -- so there's little smell of cigarette smoke. The eating area is relatively quiet and roomy; you don't feel like you're getting trampled when you go for the food. As one reviewer puts it, "I felt as if I was dining at a buffet, rather than diving into a feeding frenzy."

The Buffet at Luxor tries to mix up its offerings more than most other Vegas buffets. Some out-of-the-ordinary choices have included spicy chicken curry, chickpea stew, potato pancakes, tzatziki and cukes, blintzes, sloppy joe sliders,  a sushi bar, a yogurt bar, and a huge 30-foot salad bar (largest we've seen on the Strip). For breakfast are cooked-to-order omelets and eggs Benedict (and we've heard that the Benedict cook is a master) and for lunch there's a make-your-own sandwich area. One complaint we've received is that the vegetarian choices are non-existent (other than the salads), but if you eat seafood, More almost always has cracked crab legs and peeled shrimp.

This is a sort of sleeper buffet and by its location and variety, we suspect it's meant to be. In our estimation, it beats Excalibur (for the same money and Mandalay Bay (which is more expensive) hands down.
