This restaurant was reviewed in the March 2010 LVA; some of the information contained in the review may no longer be accurate. This is another famous old-time Vegas steak place that many swear is still the best (it’s won the local “Best in Vegas” poll for something like 20 years running). It used to be less expensive than others of its ilk, but that’s not really the case today, with most steaks in the $40s and chicken breast the lowest tab at $28. The steaks are good, but one of the best things about this restaurant is its old-style ambience. You’ll enjoy eating dinner here for that reason alone. If you go, you have to try the black bean soup ($8). A famous dish here for many years, the soup is served with two add-ins—a bowl of chopped onions and a shot of brandy—that create a truly memorable taste.
