A futuristic spaceship on its way to Las Vegas is the setting for this raunchy, campy, off-the wall show that strives hard for avant garde with varying degrees of success. Some will love the camp; others will just be turned off. But at its core, this is a variety show with some very talented performers.
Different? In all our years of Vegas show-going, this is the first time we’ve seen an honest-to-goodness sword swallower (don’t know how he does it and don’t want to!). Then there’s the girl in the balloon, the juggler/unicyclist who loves the music of Queen, the hula-hoop guy who looks like Louie Anderson, and the man/woman team that pops bananas into each others mouths from long distance. It’s different, all right.
Perhaps the best part is the intimate and casual set-up. You sit on loungers very close to the action and cast members frequently wade into the audience, giving the show an underground cool-kids-hang-here vibe. We enjoyed it, though we can see how it’d be too much for less adventurous audiences. Again, some will love it and some won’t.
We walked in with a drink in hand and no one seemed to care. You might want to give it a try, as drinks range from $6 for a Jello shot to $24 for a specialty cocktail. Use our code at LasVegasAdvisor.com for $68 tickets.
