Another topless show packed with an hour's worth of topless-show clichés? Yes and no. On the yes side, Sexxy serves up French maids, cowgirls, aerial ribbons, a shackled audience member, and "Cherry Pie" and "Hey, Big Spender" on the song list. But, as LV Review-Journal reviewer Mike Weatherford concedes, "Sexxy does the usual very well." The difference is a high level of energy and athleticism in the performances, which makes these familiar themes pop. The show's lead dancer, Jennifer Romas, is the driving force, delivering an eye-popping pole dance, along with an equally memorable bathtub romp. And since Romas is also the show's choreographer, the other numbers—performed by four more dancers, a singer, and the aerialist—bring much of the same oomph. ToplessVegasOnline's Arnold Snyder rates it as "the sexiest of the Vegas topless production shows," and we concur. Add that it's priced $10 below Fantasy, $25 below X Rocks, and $35 below X Burlesque and there's a strong argument for making Sexxy your jiggle-show default.
Seating in the Shimmer Theater is all general admission, so you'll need to get there early if you want to be near the stage. Otherwise, we've always favored the stools at the bar, which offer decent sightlines, make it easy to get a drink, and provide a unique vantage point for watching the dancers as they line up in the wings and prepare to take the stage for the next number.
