Sam Wills, a New Zealand comic, busker, and mime, performs as the bug-eyed taped-lips Tape Face. After touring the world on the strength of being a finalist on Season 11 (2016-2017) of “America’s Got Talent,” Wills has found a home at Harrah’s, which has rolled out a new 200-seat theater, the House of Tape, for his multi-year residency. Tape Face, obviously, doesn’t speak at all during his shows, relying on music, facial and physical humor, and props, many of which he pulls from a messenger bag—such as balloons and staple guns, oven mitts, toilet seats and toilet paper, a woman’s dress, barstool and leather aviator helmet, and of course, masking tape—for his comedy. You kinda have to see it (which you can on YouTube); after about a minute of the act, you’ll have the idea. And you’ll probably want to see him live.
