Jetpack AmericaSpring Mountain Motorsports RanchHours: Mon-Sun, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March-October Price: $129-$699 Type: Thrills Jetpack flying combines the propulsion of jet skiing, the exhilaration of skydiving, and the airborne views of parasailing for a unique experience. In Nevada, you can try it out on the five-acre freshwater Lake Spring Mountain at Spring Mountain Motorsports Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, an hour west of Las Vegas.
The two-hour introductory package includes a video overview of the jet pack and flight fundamentals; "ground-school" training in the flight pack; safety procedures, 3-7 minutes of strapping in and swim testing, and 10-60 minutes of flying time, depending on the package. Flyers wear walkie-talkie helmets and are in constant contact with an instructor, who also has remote throttle control. Wetsuits are available to rent for $5.
Most first-time pilots are airborne within their first 5-10 minutes in the pack, though it takes longer to acheive the maximum height of 30 feet. Packages are available for up to 60 minutes. NotesMinimum age to solo: 14. Pilots must be between five and seven feet (minors must be at least 5'5"), with a weight between 85 and 330 pounds.
