Surrender 15 against 10 or Ace. Otherwise hit.
Surrender 17 against Ace. Otherwise stand.
Surrender 8,8 against Ace. Otherwise split.
If single deck, Surrender 7,7 against 10; in multi-deck hit.
(From my strategy card: 4-8 decks, dealer hits on soft 17.)
Early surrender, fold immediately, player keeps half the bet.
Late surrender: Dealer upcard is Ace. Player waits for dealer to check. If blackjack, the hand is over and player loses entire bet. If not blackjack, player can Surrender and keeps half the bet.
As always, "when allowed." Don't look for it on the felt. Just try it. If not allowed the dealer will say so, nothing lost.

Is this late surrender or early surrender strategy? It seems to me that it's early surrender, which you basically NEVER see any more.
