Name the song the line is from Part II

It took me by surprise, I must say

That's because I Heard It Through The Grapevine. That's what Marvin Gaye said, anyway. Good one, Cyn! I loves me my Motown.

OK, changing gears here. Some 1976:

There was something in the air that night

OK, more lines (that include the one-word title), and a hint:

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, ________
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, ________

Best I recall, this wasn't on the songlist when we saw Mamma Mia! at Mandalay Bay some years ago. It probably should have been. Turns out it was this group's best selling single ever.

According to Wikipedia, this release was one of fewer than 30 singles in history that sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.

Fernando...ABBA

Phil shoots.....HE SCORES!!

new stuff...

love the single liners

You can't fool me, 'cause I'm gonna know if you hide and try to peek

Jim, I think that it was used in Mama Mia....also seen at Mandalay Bay
just googled....wasn't sung in movie

https://mrob.com/pub/music/mamma-mia.html ..this site doesn't list the song in the stage show

Cripes, I guess I like everything. I even liked that one. I'm beginning to think I'm too easy to satisfy. Musically speaking, that is.

It's Little Children, by Billy J. Kramer (and The Dakotas?).

OK, we're going to the Wayback Machine here. Ain't nobody gonna remember this one from 1961:

And when I'm away from you, I love how you miss me

I like the stings on that one when the Paris Sisters did it. I know Bobby Vinton did it too.
It’s “I love how you love me”.

Next:

Now there’s some sad things known to man.

Mr. Smokey Robinson said there ain't too much sadder than the Tears Of A Clown.

How 'bout:

I said there's short ones, tall ones, fine ones, kind ones

Jim - you are killing me
I was trying to stay out of it but -
Marvin?
Smokey?
And now the Marvelletes? Too Many Fish in the Sea?

***************KINDA NEW ****************

Maybe you'd go away and never call
And a taste of honey is worse than none at all

Tonyrob

Sure am glad to see you back with us, Tony.

I believe that's I Second That Emotion, by Smokey and The Miracles.

OK, I don't want to run this Motown thing into the ground but, what the hell, one more wouldn't hurt, would it? I hope not.

Here we go. It's 1966. Out of respect for Phil, I'm going with a one-liner:

I'm gettin' ready for the heartaches to come
