Name the song the line is from Part II

Pretty sure that song is Don't Worry, Be Happy, by Bobby McFerrin.

Here's a song that has been recorded by several artists, but this guy's 1963 version was probably the most popular. I saw him perform it live in Vegas a few years back:

And that's when I'll discover that revenge is sweet
As I sit there applaudin' from a front row seat

"I Wanna Be Around," by Tony Bennett.

"My clothes may all be torn and tattered"
Hi All,

I’m fairly sure that’s “Rags to Riches by Tony Bennett

This is nice from 1970:

A lovely woman in motion, with hair as dark as night

Well, that's definitely Gypsy Woman. I remember the Brian Hyland version, which would have been about 1970. I keep thinking someone else did it earlier but I have no idea who, so I'm probably wrong.

OK, I'm having trouble coming up with anything right now, so I apologize for this:

He coulda won a Grammy
Buried in his jammies

I promise I'll be more serious with my next post. Honest, I will.

Good one, Jim. I still have the 45 of that one, along with a couple of albums of Steve Martin’s stand-up stuff from the 1970s. That’s “King Tut”.

BTW, The Impressions did “Gypsy Woman” first. I had to look it up, but Curtis Mayfield wrote it when he was with the group back in 1962.

One of my faves from 1972:

Baby, I can't stay, you got to roll me
Good Morning All,

Oh my, this is still up. I’d better give hints then.
This song was originally done by a hugely popular group in 1972 and again in 1977 by Linda Ronstadt.
The song compares love to gambling and specifically shooting craps.

A few more lines:

'Cause all you women is low down gamblers
Cheatin' like I don't know how

Clues - recorded in 1970 and released in 1971 on an album. Also featured on a greates hits album.

This female singer died 3 days after recording this song.

More clues

Another line - Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,

On the night that she recorded this, she also recorded a
Happy Birthday tape for John Lennon - which he received in the mail after her death

If nobody gets it I'll post the answer later this afternoon
