Name the song the line is from Part II

I'm thinking that's "You Were On My Mind," or something like that? Was the group called We Five?

Yes and yes.

Whatcha got, Sue?

"I always get what I aim for,
and your heart and soul is what I came for"

Edited to add: I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, so have a nice day and happy Easter, everybody!

Pretty sure that's Whatever Lola Wants (Lola Gets). I'm guessing many artists have probably done it, but I have no idea who did it first.

OK, I'm gonna try a one-liner here. It was a #5 hit in 1970:

A thumb goes up, a car goes by

I’m guessing “Hitchin' a ride”, but I don’t recall who did it.

Here’s some 1976:

Give me some time, I'm living in twilight

I do believe that's Telephone Line, by ELO. I really liked their music. The sound was unique.

I tend to think of these guys as an 80s band, but this one was from 1978. I think it may have been their first significant hit:

It's not in the way you look, or the things that you say that you'll do

Edit: BTW, Hitchin' A Ride was done by the UK group Vanity Fare. That's not a typo. That's the way they spelled it.

More lines (including the 3-word title), and a few hints:

It's not in the way you've been treating my friends
It's not in the way that you'll stay to the end
It's not in the way you look, or the things that you say that you'll do
____ ___ ____
Love isn't always on time

This song peaked at #5 on the US charts in 1978. The band's biggest hit, a #1 smash, would come later, in 1982. It was named after a continent, of all things.

The band's name, in Latin, means "all encompassing."

Ain't got no place to lay your head

Tonyrob

Oops, too late.

Damn cats (currently 4) and dog (1) almost always wake me up overnight, so I checked in.

Pretty sure I know your song Tony, but I don't have any lyrics of my own lined up.

I'll answer in the morning, unless someone else beats me to it, in which case...I won't worry, ha ha.
