Sorry Sue,

I get the feeling I should know it. But it just hasn’t clicked yet.
Maybe another line or two would do it for me. But it’s your call. I’ll check back in a couple of hours and see what happens.
"Can the ocean keep from rushing to the shore?
It's just _________________"
Thanks, Sue. I got it now. “It’s Just Impossible” is a really nice song. I’m thinking Robert Goulet may be the artist I’m looking for. I’m sure that many did it though. But I recall that I heard Steve Martin use a different line in one of his bits from long ago. It was funny.

I hope somebody remembers this:
I'm solid gold
I've got the goods
They stand when I walk through the neighborhoods

I seem to think "It's Impossible" was sung by Perry Como, but I could be wrong.
I was sure you were right, Sue. I guess I saw Robert Goulet sing it on a TV show or something, but he was not the one to have a hit with it. I found this kind of interesting. It’s from Wikipedia:

"Somos Novios (It's Impossible)" is a song written by the premier Mexican bolero composer Armando Manzanero. The song was translated into English by Sid Wayne and first recorded by Perry Como in 1970. It is one of the most popular boleros of all time. Besides Como, it has been recorded by Elvis Presley, Andy Williams, Jerry Vale, Dennis Brown, and Andrea Bocelli. Tejano group Mazz recorded this as part of a meledy entitled "Canciones De Amor" which was on the album "Para Nuestra Gente".

The Perry Como version would be one of his most influential records, and in February 1971, it became his first song to reach the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 in more than 12 years, peaking at number ten. The song's peak on the Hot 100 chart came just weeks after concluding a four-week run atop the Billboard Easy Listening chart.[1] On the UK Singles Chart, the single reached number four in 1971.
Anyway, it is a lovely song. Thanks for posting it.

Oops, I probably should re-post my last one.

I'm solid gold
I've got the goods
They stand when I walk through the neighborhoods

Anybody?
What decade is that from, Cyndee? The only thing that comes to my mind is "Duke of Earl," but I'm sure that's wrong, LOL.
It’s from 1979, Sue. It was actually the theme song from a very short-lived TV show about a young man who worked in an ice cream parlor. He also would hang out at a disco called “Inferno”.

Here are a few more lines that practically give it away:

I've got the chance
I'm takin' it
No more, no more
Fakin' it
This time in life
I’m ______ __
Makin' It? (I've never heard of it, but it rhymes, lol)
