Name the song the line is from Part II

That one would be in the top forty of my favorites if I had an official list. It’s “Someone Saved my Life Tonight” by Elton John.

This was a # 6 hit for this guy:

Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do

Because, after all, It's Up To You. That's what Ricky Nelson said. Good one!

A little bit o' 1963:

I work seven days a week to give you all my money

It took a while, but I got it. It’s “Pride and Joy” by Marvin Gaye.

#1 in 1962 and again in 1971:

When you are near me like this
You're much too hard to resist

"Go Away Little Girl." I think Steve Lawrence had a hit with that one.

"Don't want the world to have and hold,
For fame is not my line.
Just want a little ____ __ ____
to prove that you are mine."

A very old song (from the '50's maybe?) by a singer who died recently.

I vaguely remember a 50s tune called Band Of Gold. That seems to fit lyrically and contextually in the blank spaces above.

I can hear a strong male voice singing it. I don't know who it was, but I guess he recently passed away, huh, Sue? Who was it?

I think I'm right on the song, so I'll post some lyrics. If I'm wrong, I'll take 'em down

Early 60s:

And your laugh, that wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart

It was Don Cherry, Jim, and you're right on the title -- Band of Gold.

I think yours is "The Way You Look Tonight."

I'm trying to think of something to post, but drawing a blank.

Edit -- okay, here's one --

"And then I die,
That's when I die"
Hi All,

I used to laugh at the sentiment in that song, Sue. How could anybody be so desperate? It’s “It must be him” by Vicki Carr. It’s a nice tune though and she did a great job with it.

Another one from the 1960s:

I'll find somebody wait and see
Who am I kiddin' only me

Heading out for a while so I'll leave it open

I should've realized a lot of things before

I’m pretty sure it’s “I should have known better” by the Beatles.

Hope this flies:

It won't be long, just'a wait and see
I'll have a big car, fine clothes and then I'll be
