Yes - and Gene Autrey and Roy Rogers.

Jim, I knew your "big nuggets" clue, too, but I wasn't home to answer it, lol.

OK, here's a country song, very old --

"By day I make the cars,
By night I make the bars"

Detroit City - don't know who did the US version but the Brit version was Tom Jones.
I have heard it played badly by more startup bands that I care to remember

Bobby Bare did the country version. Tom Jones did a lot of country covers -- I believe he had a whole album of country, including "Green Green Grass of Home."

Yeah - I used to think that Green Green Grass of Home was about Wales!

Lalena - Donovan. Great choice!

Seventies - charted in the USA at #1, and is in the Billboard Top 100.
It was also a track in a movie.

You're the light in my deepest, darkest night,

Tonyrob

I don't know why that one seemed so difficult. Sheesh.

Pretty sure it's How Deep Is Your Love, by the Bee Gees.

This was a #2 hit in 1976:

I have lived only half of what I am
It's all clear to me now

I’ve been out a lot and almost missed this. Definitely a favorite for me. It’s “Love is Alive” by Gary Wright.

‘Tis the season:

I “Cloud Nine” when I want to

Good one! Hot Fun In The Summertime, by Sly & the Family Stone.

'Tis the season, once again:

You were so shy and yet you stole my heart away

Additional lines:

I never will forget
That summer day we met
You were so shy and yet
You stole my heart away

The song is from 1963.

Not much I can say about the female artist. She's not well known; this was her only hit record. Wikipedia says she enjoyed a long and lucrative career as a session singer who backed many name artists and also sang dozens of TV commercials and TV theme songs.
