Name the song the line is from Part II

Another one from that same time period (early '70's, I think) --

"Goodbye, my friend, it's hard to die
when all the birds are singing in the sky"
Hi All,

That’s funny, Sue. I just heard that while looking for a parking place.

It’s “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks.

From 1971:

To weave our dreams upon
and listen to each evening
when the lights are low

That be Three Dog Night singing An Old Fashioned Love Song. I like their music.

This one's from 1972:

Baby I'm through, runnin' it's true
I'd be a fool to try to escape you

More lines and some hints:

Baby I'm through, runnin' it's true
I'd be a fool to try to escape you
And maybe I'm beat
But oh, what a _____ _________

You keep your rights, I'll take your nights
No one can lose when we turn the lights out
And tastin' defeat
Lovin' that _____ _________

Obviously a two-word title. The song reached #15 in 1972.

This L.A. based group pretty much defined the soft rock genre at the time. Another of their songs has appeared on the thread recently.

That’s a nice one, Jim. I just heard it a few days ago. It’s “Sweet Surrender” by Bread.

From 1975:

I've been cheated by you
since I don't know when
So, I made up my mind
It must come to an end

I do believe that's Mamma Mia, by Abba.

This was a #2 hit in 1966:

Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give

That’s “Red Rubber Ball” by Cyrkle. I like that one.

It’s time for a little Philly Soul from 1971:

Today I saw somebody
who looked just like you
She walked like you do
I thought it was you

That's a really good one! You Are Everything, by The Stylistics.

Philly Soul, huh? I think this one from 1970 qualifies:

Ten times or more, yes, I've walked out that door
Get this into your head, there'll be no more

More lines:

I thought that heart of yours was true, girl
Now didn't I think it baby, didn't I think it baby
But this time I'm really leaving you, girl
Oh, hope you know it baby, hope you know it baby

Ten times or more, yes, I've walked out that door
Get this into your head, there'll be no more

It's a pioneering Philadelphia soul group.

In 1970, the song reached #10 on the Hot 100, #3 R&B, #22 UK.

That’s “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind (This Time)” by the Delfonics. That gets a lot of play around here.

I like these guys too:

But something went wrong
We loved each other
We just couldn't get along
