Name the song the line is from Part II

This song is from 1973 and still gets some play around here. So, I thought it might go well. Maybe not.
It’s another Philly Soul song (Gamble and Huff wrote it)
The lead singer of the group was paralyzed in a 1982 car accident, but had a come back of sorts with great support from his fans and peers. He died almost two years ago.

These lines should help:
___ ____ _ ____
Was a sweet love
___ ____ _ ____
Was complete love
___ ____ _ ____
I will never (never) no no never
(Never) love again ooh

Edited bad grammar

Sorry, saw that one this morning on my way out the door, but couldn't take the time to answer. Picking up wife at the airport, which turned out to be an all-day ordeal, just about.

The song's a good one. The Love I Lost, by Howard Melvin and The Blue Notes. Teddy Pendergrass was the lead singer when they did that one.

I always liked this one, from a Philly girl group in 1974:

Are we in love, or just friends?
Is this my beginning, or is this the end?

That one is “When will I see you again?” by the Three Degrees.

This Philadelphia stuff is making me hungry for pretzels. I think I’ll come back to California now.

It’s automatic when I talk with old friends,
the conversation turns to
girls we knew when
their hair was soft and long
and the beach was the place to go

That be Do It Again, by the Beach Boys.

OK, California it is:

Well I just got into town about an hour ago
Took a look around, see which way the wind blow

(I'm wondering where we're gonna go next. Lemme see...what comes after Philadelphia and California? Hmmm... )

I was kind of hoping we could spend a day or two on the music of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

Anyway, your song is Hotel California, by the Eagles.

Now, when we say California music, I assume we mean music that is FROM California, and not necessarily ABOUT California, right? That seems to be the rule that applies when we talk about Philadelphia, Motown, etc.

OK, so this Cali band that performed live at Woodstock sometimes dabbled in psychedelic stuff, but they were a blues band at their core. This song is from their 1968 album named Living The Blues:

I'm going where the water tastes like wine
We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time

“White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane

I have a friend who lives here and he says it’s a nice place:

Things got bad
and things got worse
I guess you will know the tune.

Well, the members of Credence Clearwater Revival didn't seem to think so. They felt like they were stuck in Lodi. That was going to be my next song, by the way, Cyndee.

A counterculture band from Haight-Ashbury released this one 1968:

And each time I tell myself that I, well, I can't stand the pain
But when you hold me in your arms, I'll sing it once again
